Full Suspension
Full suspension mountain bikes are designed for a variety of disciplines, the most commonly recognised are mountain trail, freeride, downhill and cross-country. Cross-country bikes were until more recently limited to hardtail frames, however with carbon fibre now becoming more prevalent, dual suspension is now creeping into the ranks. Mountain bikes are built to handle rougher varying terrain than cross-country bikes and are most typically used by recreational riders, whereas freeride bikes are extremely durable as are downhill bikes with their primary differences being strength vs weight.
