Electric Bikes
Electric bikes are powered by an electric motor either directly within the front or rear internal hub or to the drive-train. Most electric bikes have a limited range of around 25-35 kilometres, however this can be extended with additional battery packs. Lead-acid batteries are most commonly used as they are cheaper, however they are also heavy, so lithium batteries are becoming increasingly popular despite the price-tag. Electric bikes are ideal for commuting and arriving at your destination sweat-free or enabling the elderly to still enjoy the benefits of cycling by providing necessary pedal assistance.
